Like the Sky Misses a Rainbow

For Ashly

A raindrop fell,
and then another.
Like a faulty drain,
the cloud above me rained.

I scuttled away
in search of blue,
but grey I found…
before I found you.

A lovely one
with a cloud above,
but yours was bright and bubbly.

Stormy souls found their way to you.
And still they do.
You collect, reflect, and affect them.

But even radiant clouds
cast a shadow.
The drops you hold
are heavy indeed.
So few have ever seen them freed.

Prism scattered light
takes us to such heights.
The ride is rare,
but you take me there.

My sky is blue,
but it is missing you.
